What you'll learn: How to use your computer easily for everyday tasks.

  • Turning your computer on and off, using the mouse and keyboard.
  • Navigating the internet safely and finding information.
  • Setting up email and simple ways to fix common issues.

Smartphone Basics

What you'll learn: How to use your phone for calls, messages, and more.

  • Making calls, sending texts, and managing your contacts.
  • Connecting to Wi-Fi, taking photos, and using helpful apps.
  • Adjusting your phone's settings to make it work best for you.

Online Safety

What you'll learn: How to stay safe and confident when using the internet.

  • Recognizing and avoiding common online scams and tricks.
  • Keeping your passwords strong and your personal information private.
  • Shopping and banking online securely.

Curriculum

Objective: Participants will feel comfortable turning on their device, navigating its basic interface, and connecting to the internet.

  • Introduction: What is a computer/smartphone? Basic components. Turning devices on/off.
  • Navigating the Interface: Touchscreen gestures (tap, swipe, pinch), mouse & keyboard basics, understanding icons and menus.
  • Connectivity: Connecting to Wi-Fi networks, understanding mobile data.
  • Basic Settings: Adjusting screen brightness, volume, font size.
  • Power & Care: Charging devices, battery life tips.
